Rose's monstrous new role! Australian actress Byrne trades in her glamorous get-up as she takes on a very unusual role in Martha The Monster

She's the Australian actress known for the glamour she often brings to comedic roles.

But Rose Byrne, 38, will become unrecognisable for her next starring gig, which will see her voice the lead character in upcoming film Martha The Monster.

Taking time out from her Hollywood schedule, the Bridesmaids actress will star in the quirky new project, which is slated to screen at Bondi's Flickerfest.

In the usual role, the brunette beauty will play the protagonist 'Martha', a 20-something aspiring stand-up comic, who struggles to find meaning in her life.

Set in an alternative universe, the plot takes place in a society where monsters and humans live together.

The film also cleverly explores the concept of racism, symbolised by the difference between the two co-existing races.

No matter what the weather or occasion you can never go wrong with florals.

Rose Byrne proved it when she wore a petal powered floral dress at last year's Tribeca Film Festival.

The Rag&Bone design made for a stylish red carpet look and we love that she styled it simply with a leather jacket and heeled boots.

Sadly this particular piece has sold out completely but you can recreate the star's look with one of the similar blooming gorgeous buys below.

Our fave is at Ted Baker and there's other garden-inspired buys at Topshop, ASOS and Nobody's Child too.

Whichever you go for, we guarantee you'll look the best of the bunch!

In the short flick, Martha suffers from a constant stream of abuse, at the hands of both human and monsters - an element of the film that plays off the increased amount of political polarisation occurring in contemporary society.

Themes in the film have also been compared to the current sexual harassment issues occurring in Hollywood.

The actress, meanwhile, has been keeping a low profile since she gave birth to her second son with beau Bobby Cannavale in November last year.

The Damages actress has remained tight-lipped about her bundle of joy, only recently saying publicly she named the tot, Rafa, after international tennis player, Rafael Nadal.
